Rural Water Supply

ATC carries out research on low cost technologies that can be adopted to enhance rural water supply. For example, rainwater harvesting has a potential in the country and thus, we are studying a number of options that can be used to upscale the practice. An EMAS tank with pump which is one of the most low cost rainwater harvesting technology has been installed in the model village and its use is being studied. Other technologies under study include using the rope pump as a self supply technology -i.e., to lift water from an underground tank.
